I was going through my photo’s and realized that I have a chronological series of pics for some of the works I’ve completed recently. In my practice, I don’t have a completely firm grasp as to what the finished work will look like.
Oils have always been synonymous with slow drying times, but they have come a long way in modern times. The range of mediums available is staggering. But if you want to work in layers, you will wait. This waiting process doesn’t have to be a limiting factor however. I use the time between to decide which way the work will be going. Sometimes all the work is done between layers and all it takes is a few quick brush strokes to reach the desired effect.
Anyway. I just thought I’d share some of the process with everyone. If you have questions or comments, feel free to leave a message.
